In the presence of King Frederik X of Denmark, the 2025 edition of the European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC), the main European conference dedicated to quantum technologies, opened in Copenhagen.
The event, hosted by the University of Copenhagen and co-organized by the European Commission within the framework of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, brought together top representatives from the academic, industrial, and institutional worlds to outline the future of the European quantum ecosystem.
QuantumNet took part in the initiative as part of the NQSTI (National Quantum Science and Technology Institute) consortium. QuantumNet participated as a successful bidder for the European call for proposals dedicated to quantum technologies, thus confirming its strategic role in the landscape of continental research and innovation.
The EQTC 2025: The Heart of the European Quantum Ecosystem
The EQTC represents the main meeting point for the European quantum community, with the objectives of:
- Strengthening the connections between research, industry, and policy-makers;
- Showcasing European excellence in quantum sciences and technologies;
- Fostering dialogue between institutions and businesses to accelerate the adoption and standardization of emerging solutions.
This year, the conference takes on a particularly symbolic value, as it comes within the context of the recent adoption of the Quantum Europe Strategy and the preparation of the EU Quantum Act, marking a key moment for the definition of continental policies on the matter.
